St Joseph's Māori Girls' College

St Joseph’s is a Māori and Catholic Year 7 - Year 13 Girls Composite Boarding and Day School. St Joseph’s is a school principally but not exclusively, for Māori girls providing an education where Tikanga Māori and Tikanga Hāhi enrich and permeate everyday life. 

Our College motto is: ‘I o mahi katoa mahia’ In whatever you do, do well (Excel). 

St Joseph’s Māori Girls’ College is situated in a quiet residential area, surrounded by private houses, within walking distance of nearby shops, two local primary schools, and enroute to Napier city and Hastings city.

The College Chapel was built in 1958 and is decorated in the Māori Art forms of tukutuku panels, kowhaiwhai. The tabernacle, lectern and altar are carved. The Hostel dormitories provide sleeping areas (with built in beds, a drawer and a wardrobe), dining room, laundry,TV rooms. Year 13 have individual rooms and their own cooking facilities and lounge.

The school buildings consist of 14 classrooms, three science laboratories, a library, 2 computer suites, a Visual Arts facility, Gymnasium and a Technology Unit​​​​​​​
